Khan M. Siddiqui, MD

Co-Founder, Executive Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Siddiqui is a world-renowned clinical radiologist, pioneer in the field of AI and a serial entrepreneur. His astounding network stretches through medicine, academia, technology, government, clinical associations, and finance. He holds dozens of patents in deep learning, AI, image processing, data visualization, MR imaging, and secure patient information handling. His work at Microsoft in the early 2000’s included the first multimodal AI model in medical imaging and developing the necessary infrastructure and training for the large AI model behind Xbox Kinect, which was based on nearly one billion images. Dr. Siddiqui is a serial entrepreneur with a track record of success. He took Hyperfine, Inc., the creator of the world’s first FDA 510(k) cleared, portable MRI scanner, public via a SPAC process. He also founded higi, Inc., a consumer health technology company, which was acquired by a technology company in a $4.2 billion SPAC transaction. Dr. Siddiqui has held significant roles at Microsoft, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Maryland. He was the founding chair of the American College of Radiology’s Imaging and Informatics Commission and has demonstrated his leadership and expertise throughout the field of radiology. He contributed to dozens of academic radiology informatics programs in the United States and is a frequent lecturer on building highly scalable technology companies, building data driven digital health companies and the rapid commercialization of medical and digital health technologies, particularly, AI in radiology and medical imaging startups.

Finally, Dr. Siddiqui is a member of various boards and advisory committees for startups around the world, and he has given hundreds of invited talks. His work has been recognized globally, further solidifying his reputation as a leader in healthcare technology.

Oliver Chen, MD

Co-Founder & Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Chen is a clinical neuroradiologist, expert in AI and a serial entrepreneur. He has been working with Dr. Siddiqui for decades, reaching back to their time together at Microsoft where he launched initiatives for machine learning, medical imaging, and human image recognition. The algorithms he helped create became the foundation technology for Xbox Kinect.

After finishing his undergraduate work at MIT, Dr. Chen completed medical school at Harvard. He did his radiology residency at UCLA and his neuroradiology fellowship at UCSF. He was on the faculty at NYU Medical School and has maintained his deep ties to academia as a highly sought after lecturer who frequently speaks on the intersection of radiology, medical imaging, AI, and technology commercialization.

He has been a serial entrepreneur in both the US and international markets starting in teleradiology and population health. While contributing to many successful entrepreneurial initiatives he founded and then sold ilumihealth. He has been at HOPPR since the beginning and has co-led the development of the HOPPR prototype.

Robert Bakos

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Robert has over 22 years of experience leading and managing significant software development in the areas of digital health and medical imaging. His latest role was as the CTO of higi where he built the engineering team, led the development of the technology strategy, constructed the technology infrastructure, and led the generation of the entire suite of software. He was an integral part of the leadership team when higi was acquired as part of a $4.2 billion SPAC transaction.

His relevant experience includes the design and development of a highly scalable HIPAA-compliant cloud-based PHR platform, storing over 500MM records and servicing over 60MM users; the development, deployment, and maintenance of over 10k FDA class 2 medical kiosks; and the administration of a custom-built IoT management platform. Prior to joining Higi, Mr. Bakos managed a development team within Merge Healthcare (IBM Watson Imaging), focusing on RIS/PACS integrations and innovative solutions to optimize patient experience. Finally, he led the technological integration of three companies acquired by higi. Robert has been with HOPPR since the beginning and led the technology aspect of the prototype.

Gerry Stegmaier

Co-Founder

Gerry has 25+ years’ experience as an attorney, investor, and strategic adviser with expertise in global data licensing, strategy, product design and a focus on health data. Gerry is widely recognized for his work in privacy by design and enterprise data risk governance. He has been noted for helping machine-learning and artificial intelligence pioneers address and manage privacy, data security, intellectual property, and related rights issues as they scale.

His experience includes natural language processing and model development for healthcare and pharmaceutical applications. He has structured some of the largest machine learning joint ventures in the US and helped bring hundreds of data-centric products to market for companies including Amazon, Apple, Nuance (acq’d by Microsoft), LiveRamp, TellApart (acq’d by Twitter) and higi.

Ted Schwab

Chief Development Officer

Ted has over 35 years of experience in the health care industry focusing on innovation, strategy, health system operations and health tech startups. After earning his bachelor’s degree at Washington University in St. Louis and his MBA at the UCLA Anderson School of Management Ted cut a path through healthcare strategic consulting as a partner at Oliver Wyman, SSB, Strategy & and Huron. In addition, he has operational experience, leading a large Integrated Delivery System in the Midwest.

He was the second Chief Innovation Officer in the entire health care industry and in that role launched over 200 initiatives (35+ were start-up ventures) and was a founding member of the Innovation Learning Network. For the last six years he has been investing in, building, and driving the commercialization of health tech start-ups. With his partner he launched Schwab Tremblay Solutions, a boutique interim healthcare management company for healthcare startups where they have successful managed the launch of companies, raised money, and developed boards and clinical partnership.

Jory Tremblay

Chief Commercialization Officer

Jory is an entrepreneur, strategist and technology go to market expert. He has done this successfully in both a Corporate and digital start up setting and both the US and emerging markets. He brings 30 years of business experience on how to assess a market, enter it successfully and scale. His experience as an internationally seasoned operating sales and marketing executive enabled him to successfully operate the corporate world and the technology start up space as an investor, entrepreneur, and advisor to management and boards alike. He has raised money both as an operator and as board member raising 107M dollars, including a 50M investment in a digital health start up in 2019. He has also been involved in M&A including leading a 9+figure exit for a privately held company in 2020. He is currently on the board of advisors for two privately held technology companies with revenues nearing $500M, and he is on the Board of Directors of a supply chain company that offers a cold storage solution globally.

With 15+ years working in AI first at Fetch Technologies he led product, development, sales and marketing, and operations. He helped raise $14M and the team launched 6 AI based products in 27 months. He was also lead on the team contracted to build one of the first ACOs in the US that is now ~700,000 lives and scaling, co-managed EspressoSat, and built a small telemedicine company in eastern Congo, sold that, then co-founded Provence Capital before going on to launch with his partner Schwab Tremblay Solutions a boutique interim healthcare management company for healthcare startups where they have successful managed the launch of companies, raised money and developed boards and clinical partnership.
